The Betsy-Tacy Society
http://www.betsy-tacysociety.org/
For Betsy-Tacy fans, this link needs no introduction! If you have not
heard of the Betsy-Tacy stories by Maud Hart Lovelace, please do check
them out. They are the most delightful and extraordinary portrayal of
life in a small town in Minnesota from 1897 through about 1917. All based
on the author's real friends and real life experiences. Wonderful, wonderful
stories for your middle-school kids and grandkids (and you, too...wait
'til you see how many members are in the B-T Society!)"
Corsets:
There are many specialty corset makers with wonderful web sites. In the
Good Old Days" corsets were made in white, as you would expect,
but they were also made in spectacular colors and patterns! If you want
to be truly authentic when you dress in your vintage style clothing, then
you will want at least one lovely corset. An inexpensive and almost-authentic
corset is the Jacquard Dream model from Fredericks of Hollywood.
The price of authentic custom-made corsets will leave you more breathless
than the corset! So the Jacquard Dream might be a good starter model
around $50.00 on sale.
