White cotton batiste with tucks, gathers, and bands of insertion lace. So very feminine, especially when worn over pastel colored underwear...also typical of the period. So light and airy; very comfortable on summer picnics, boating, and afternoon garden parties. Very full above-the-ankle skirt, as would have been worn by a teen-age girl. (Mom would have worn a similar dress to the floor.)
